The art pro­ject “Ar­tist­s’ Por­traits” is de­di­ca­ted to high­ligh­ting and ho­nou­ring the ar­tists who shape the cul­tu­ral lands­ca­pe of the Ruhr re­gi­on. These crea­ti­ves con­tri­bu­te si­gni­fi­cant­ly to the area’s di­ver­si­ty and ar­ti­stic vi­ta­li­ty, pro­du­cing work de­e­p­ly connec­ted to the re­gi­o­n’s un­i­que his­to­ry, urban cha­rac­ter, and at­mo­s­phe­re.

The por­traits for this pro­ject are cap­tu­red using a Po­la­ro­id SX-70 ca­me­ra. This ana­logue me­di­um pre­ser­ves the im­me­dia­cy, in­ti­ma­cy, and spon­ta­neous pre­sence of each en­coun­ter. Every Po­la­ro­id be­co­mes a sin­gu­lar ob­ject, re­flec­ting the wide spec­trum of ar­ti­stic iden­ti­ties.
The se­ries con­sists of 150 Po­la­ro­id por­traits.

Das Kunst­pro­jekt „Ar­tist­s’ Por­traits“ wid­met sich der Sicht­bar­ma­chung und Wür­di­gung der Kunst­schaf­fen­den, die das Ruhr­ge­biet prä­gen. Die Künst­le­rin­nen und Künst­ler die­ser Re­gi­on tra­gen we­sent­lich zur kul­tu­rel­len Viel­falt und künst­le­ri­schen Dy­na­mik bei – sie schaf­fen Werke, die in einem engen Di­a­log mit der be­son­de­ren Ge­schich­te, Ur­ba­ni­tät und At­mo­sphä­re des Ruhr­ge­biets ste­hen.

Für das Pro­jekt ent­ste­hen Por­träts mit einer Po­la­ro­id SX-70 Ka­me­ra. Die Wahl die­ses ana­lo­gen Me­di­ums be­tont die Un­mit­tel­bar­keit, In­ti­mi­tät und spon­ta­ne Prä­senz der Be­geg­nun­gen. Jedes Po­la­ro­id wird zum ein­zig­ar­ti­gen Ob­jekt und spie­gelt die Viel­falt künst­le­ri­scher Iden­ti­tä­ten wider.
Die Serie um­fasst ins­ge­samt 150 Po­la­ro­id-Por­träts.
